This unit is not deeper but it is wider so you can put lay down bottles crosswise and can hold 10 easily - or cans upright. The Top door has a safety catch that keeps the door closed. Door is switchable from side to side. Compressor is pretty quiet and runs in short burst to keep fridge cool or cold (haven't tried freezing temp). it's a thumbs up 4 me.
