This bed was a great upgrade for my 5th grader! He had long outgrown his twin bed and this was just the right upgrade for something a little more mature. I love the softness of the headboard and the built in shelf and outlets are perfect for him to charge his watch and school iPad at night. Added a reading lamp and all he wants to do is read in his bed now (parent win!). The structure is solid and building directions were clear.be sure to have at least 16 inches of mattress box spring if you don’t want a gap between the mattress and the start of the headboard. We underestimated that and there is a bit of a gap. Overall great purchase and would recommend!
